I'm sorry

I have had a very inconsistent (to say the least) internet connection on this trip and tomorrow we will get onto our boat for the next 8 days. Unless there is a huge difference and the boat has a mraculous wireless signal (I am doubful), I will most likely be abandoning the blog for this journey.

I have been able to make a few posts onto facebook and have added a few pictures there, so if you are interested, please check my faebook posts.

I am hoping I will be able to continue with the faebook posting while we are on the boat, and I hope the weather improves. Today was cold, windy and rainy....but we soldiered on and returned to the hotel very wet and shivering.
My hotel maid was so kind and turned the heat on in the room before we got back and I found my wool socks I had packed on a whim...Now heading off to bed after I finish packing for tomorrow's move.

Getting ready to travel again!

Hello Friends and family!

Next week, I leave for my next adventure. This week I am finalizing some of the details, getting organized and packed.

I will try to post some pictures and stories here each evening so if you would like to stop in to see what I am doing, I would love to see your comments and impressions!

I will be starting out with 4 nights in Amsterdam. I will be traveling alone, so having all of you visit me here will be as if you are all right there with me!

Amsterdam was the first city I saw in Europe many years ago with Terry.  This time I will be revisiting the Keukenhof Gardens - 80 acres of tulips! I plan to revisit the Van Gogh Art Museum and also to visit the .Rijksmuseum for the first time. I hope to revisit the Anne Frank house and take a canal tour. As always, I will be carrying Terry along in my heart.

I will be staying with a couple in their apartment, an Air BnB. I will have my own bedroom and share the apartment with my hosts and their dog! It should be lots of fun and interesting.

My last day in Amsterdam will be my 65th birthday!

From Amsterdam I will fly to Dubrovnik, Croatia, where I will meet up with my traveling companions for the next 12 days. We will be transported via van to our first stop, the bay of Kotor in Hercig Novi, Montenegro. After 2 nights, we will be driven back to Dubrovnik, where we will board our Yacht, the MV Futura. This will be our base for 7 nights as we wind through the islands of the Dalmatian Coast of Croatia. Our last stop will be the city of Split. Here we will stay in a hotel for 2 nights as we explore this ancient city. A flight back to Amsterdam and an overnight stay at an airport hotel will be the end of my adventure.

The Montenegro/Croatia part of my trip will be with a small group of  like-minded adventurers, all 'seniors' with a Road Scholar program. This will be my 2nd Road Scholar trip, the first International one. I am looking forward to it, and I hope you will tag along with me!
